Roger Clark was a juror on a few of my architecture studio reviews in undergraduate school. I was always amazed yet quite intimidated by his intriguing comments. So…I must admit when I first found out that he would be my 5th year studio professor, I was quite anxious and nervous. Little did I know though…that that semester would become one of my most rewarding semesters in architecture school. I will always treasure our desk crits in Kamphoefner Hall, week after week. Sometimes it takes working in the real world to truly appreciate the knowledge and skills our professors embedded in us during school. Thanks to Roger, I hope I never design a building without first understanding its parti diagram! I am so thankful to have had the privilege to be one of his students…and would just like to say congratulations on the award! You definitely deserve it!
When selecting my committee for my Master of Architecture thesis back in 2000, I wanted to push the envelope on well developed and thought provoking design. This is why I chose Professor Clark.
Professor Clark assisted me in developing my research, design process, and overall presentation skills that I continue to use today.
Thank you, Professor Clark, for your dedication to your students, NC State, and the profession of Architecture.
Each year, the Alumni Association honors 18 faculty members who have excelled in teaching, research and extension. We give them monetary awards and celebrate their achievements at a dinner held in their honor.
We would like to ask you to tell us why these faculty members are special to you. Perhaps they pointed you down a particular career path, developed your critical thinking skills or took the time to get you back on track in a particular discipline. Tell us your story!
